What to Wear to Your Company Holiday Party

Hey Loves,

It is that time of year! Holiday parties are in excess and you are off to pick the best outfit ever to make a good impression. I don’t know about you but most of my co-workers are not use to seeing me in my weekend wear. It is important to put together a look that takes you outside of the normal 9-5 look yet still keeps it professional. At my company, we always do an in-office parry. We pick a day, on that day we get an extended lunch, and everyone brings a dish. We eat and participate in a yearly christmas grab bag and then we go back to work. Totally boring!

Ariel’s employer, on the other hand, throws the best parties and always at the fanciest venues in Westchester County. I love that I get to meet all the people that work alongside my crazy husband on a daily basis. Each year the stories about Ariel get funnier and funnier. After work-hour holiday parties are a great way to let your hair down and get to know your co-workers on a more personal level. However, remember these are still your co-workers and there is not need to let your hair all the way, if you know what I mean?

What is girl to wear to these fancy parties? Since it is my husband’s company party, I want to make sure I make hubby look good by having a beautiful wife and still want to look elegant, chic and classy all at the same time! It can get a little tricky. From attending Ariel’s company holiday parties, here is what I have learned:

Sequins

Sequins are a great way to stand out. Sparkly sequins are great and look super cute. Keep the rest of your outfit casual since the dress will steal the show, and you are good to go!

Look Put Together

Remember this is a company party so there is still a certain level of professionalism necessary. Put a little care in your appearance. Cover up in the proper places. Keep your cleavage to a minimum. A higher neckline can be very flattering. Also keep in mind the hemline. Use the 2 inches above the knee tactic when selecting the length of your skirts and dresses, if you are opting for a shorter hem.

Be Comfortable, not Casual

Most company Holiday parties are formal evening wear. You may want to confirm the company’s dress code for clarity. Make sure you wear comfortable, yet stylish shoes. Keep your look classy and conservative. If you do want to go more for casual, add an accessory; a belt, cute shoes or even a bold lip color. In the end, make sure you feel good and have some fun!
