Get a Neat and Tidy House with Daily Speed Cleaning

Along with the million other things you need to make time for, keeping your home neat is one of them. Studies have proven that people who are neat tend to be more successful. So for all my entreprenuerial amigas out there, make sure you whip out that faboloso this weekend and tidy up the place. I love how inviting and attractive my home feels when its cleaned and free of clutter. With the season changes, it is time to get rid of the old: old clothes that does not fit my kids or old clothes that I no longer wear, season decor, shoes I no longer need, etc.

Speed cleaning is a concept I learned after having baby #2 almost 2 years ago. Prior to that I seemed to always find time to pick up. Once I had two children, all that extra time to tidy up just became a thing of the past. The girls keep me busy. So speed cleaning has helped a ton. Each day I set a timer for about 30-45 minutes or so, depending on the day and what tasks are on my to-do list for that day. For those 30-45 minutes, I tidy up the place. I do dishes, I pick up toys, I may even scrub a toilet here and there, if time allows it. I do whatever I can during those few minutes and then I stop. Whatever I did not get to, will just wait until tomorrow's speed cleaning time.

I usually make the time in the evening once the girls are bathed and ready for bed. I give them a few minutes to watch TV until I speed clean, and once my time is up, they are off to bed. But the key is really staying on top of it. For example, if I happen to be in the girls room getting them ready for bed. I may grab a dirty t-shirt and wipe off the dresser. Or once I give them a bath, I may let Amelia play for a few moments and wipe down the sink and toilet in her bathroom.

Keeping a neat home overall just saves you time and we all know time is money. I am constantly making Aylah and Amelia pick up their mess before they go ahead and create a new one. Amelia is constantly doing puzzles, or coloring, so before she can move on to her next task, she knows its clean up time. It is not always easy to get them to clean up after themselves, however I am consistent with this rule and I pray that in due time they will get it, and it will come naturally to them.

I am not, by any means, a neat freak. My house definitely gets messy. It is often times hard to maintain a neat home when you have little ones because they are just messy and thats inevitable. But I just cannot get a good nights rest knowing that the sink is piled up and/or the girls room is a disaster. I do not care how late it is, I will usually be the one to do the dishes and pick up around the house before I go to bed; hence why I am usually in bed so late every night. Ya'll know I love my hubby, but he is another one that needs work in the "picking up after yourself" aisle. If you have checked out my Instragram Story (@pamrosario_) you have seen the messy man I have at home. Needless to say, he does help around the house but its definitely not an everyday thing for him. We usually clean the entire house on Saturdays and that is pretty much all the cleaning I will get out of him.

Lastly, keeping my home neat chases those blues away. Seeing clutter and disorganization causes me stress. It makes me feel unproductive and overwhelmed. Clearing out the clutter in my home gives me a sense of accomplishment. I feel ready to take on life, at least until my house gets messy again. I cannot wait for the day that I can afford a housekeeper. Cleaning is definitely a task I have no problem delegating to someone else, that I am sure will probably do a much better job than me!

I hope these few tips help you all find creative ways to keep your house nice and neat without causing yourself stress, trying to find the time to do. Let me know what you think by commenting below, and since you are here, don't forget to subscribe! Adios Chicas!
